I graduated college with a degree in fashion design, and was able to move into the industry right after graduation. I felt so lucky to find a position in an ever challenging industry. I spent almost 15 years in the corporate world of design. It was great, challenging, and overwhelming at times. I loved what I did, but had a hard time with the politics of corporate life.
I saw amazing things, was taught by amazing people, and created amazing relationships. Yet, something needed to be different in my life. The stress became unbearable. So I left. I left corporate life after 15 years. Some days it's still just a little scary, even though I know that this is exactly where I want to be. And so, my freelance career began, I'd had a vision for a long time, I just kept telling myself, I wanted to do design work, teach yoga, and have something of my own. It came to be. The power of suggestion, the power of belief! I started doing freelance design work for friends and family, Interior this time. It was fun, I loved it. I love to do color work, love to walk into someone's space and give them fresh perspective, and get them excited about their homes again. I'd been a student off and on for years, but knew I wanted this to go further. I trained initially in Vinyasa yoga, then realized I wanted to explore more. I went on to train in the Hot series, Sculpt, Prenatal, Postnatal, Parent and Baby, Kids, and most recently Strong Yoga 4 Fertility with Brenda Strong. I have had amazing mentors, and have been able to experience amazing teachers. They have all added to my wealth of information and personal growth in so many ways. In 2007 I became a mommy, wow, nothing can truly prepare you for it. I have so much more awareness of parents, I wish I'd had it before, but know that I had to experience this for my eyes to open to this splendid world. Everyday brings a new word, a new color, something unbelievable that I had forgotten about. Children are such amazing teachers, they are truly here to remind us of everything good, and how truly fantastic life can be. |
